Friday afternoons, 1pm to 5pm.
21st April - 23rd June - 10 week programme
25th August - 13th October - 8 week programme
3rd November - 24th November - 4 week programme
There are four classes aimed at different ages and abilities.
Red Ball, 4-8 year olds
Three mini courts at 1-2pm
Mini Tennis red is played on short courts with smaller racquets, lower nets and softer balls. This enables younger players to learn the skills with smaller, lighter equipment while still staying loyal to the game of tennis.
Orange Ball, 4-8 year olds
One full court at 1-2pm
This is a natural progression from the Mini red ball class but there are still similarities. Still using the smaller racquets, the courts are thinner and shorter than a full sized court and the balls are lower compression than a standard yellow tennis ball.
Green Ball, 9-11 year olds
Two full courts at 2-3pm
The green ball class is the final stage before moving to full compression yellow balls. The racquets are larger, the courts are full size and the balls are just slightly softer than yellow balls.
Yellow Ball, 11 + years
Two full courts at 3-4pm
This class is aimed at children from 11+ and is played on full courts, full sized racquets and full compression balls. The class concentrates on both technique and tactics within match play.
Two full courts at 4-5pm
This class is aimed at children who finish school at 3.30pm on a Friday and is played with green/orange balls depending on the age/ability of the children.
Monday Matchplay will run the same weeks as the Friday afternoons.
